It all started with a Villager asking if I would make a couple of cakes for her family, which led to baking small cake orders on a weekly basis for Wykham Park Farm shop.
Finished Sibford school in 1999, with GCSE in Food Technology, and went straight to Banbury Technical college for 2yrs to gain NVQ levels 1 & 2 in both food preparation and Food and beverage service, and continued to do a 3rd yr to gain NVQ level 3 in Food and beverage service.
Mum carried on the weekly cake baking whilst I went to full time employment at Middle Aston House training and conference facility for 3½yrs and Rye hill golf club for 5yrs.
In May 2008 we converted the old ‘dairy’ of the farmhouse to facilitate a commercial kitchen, and the cakes were the ‘bread and butter’ whilst the rest of the business grew, reaching an average of 120-160 cakes a week for 6 different outlets at peak.
